Our Groups - we have over 20 Groups run on a voluntary basis by our members who draw upon their skills and experiences to learn from each other. Find out about Groups to see what is on offer at the moment. If you join our u3a and want to explore starting a new subject group email Groups Coordinator, there are bound to be others who share your interest. It makes an amazing difference when everyone helps each other. If it’s not fun, it’s not u3a!
What is the u3a?
The u3a is an international organisation which began in France in 1973 and in the U.K. in 1982. It is made up of independent local associations. These are run on a voluntary basis by their members and are affiliated to the Third Age Trust which provides resources, learning and guidance. You can access their website by clicking on u3a UK.
There are currently over 450,00 members in over 1000 u3as in the UK so we must be doing something right!
Nobody has to stop learning just because they have stopped working
We don’t do tests, exams, assessments or performance appraisals!
