Our AGM will take place on 16th October 1:30pm at
Blair Hall, Newlands South Church
The AGM will be held at the beginning of our usual monthly all members meeting in October. You will receive all the paperwork and information in early September.
As you read this, please consider joining the Committee yourself, or maybe nominate another member who has the ability and enthusiasm to take Southside u3a forward. We’d particularly love to hear from anyone with interest or skills in Social Media, Publicity and Communications, but all applicants with enthusiasm and commitment are very welcome.
What does the Committee do?
Committee members have collective responsibility for decision making and meet, usually in person, at least 10 times a year. They organise the membership, meetings, guest speakers, interest groups, one-off events like the afternoon tea, manage our finances, social media and publicity, produce our website and newsletters and aim to be visible and interactive with the membership. We also meet our neighbour u3as to plan and share good practice, as well as keeping in touch with the national u3a.
Officer Vacancies
Our current Chairperson is standing down from the post and there will also be a vacancy for Business Secretary.
So, at the AGM, there will be 2 Officer vacancies - Chairperson and Business Secretary and 3 vacancies for Committee members. Please think about taking up one of these roles yourself, or encourage a fellow member to give it a go!
