In October we visited Pollok House before it closed for refurbishment. We visited Holmwood House in conjunction with the Art Appreciation Group.

November saw us joined by Dougie McLellan of Southside Heritage and Environment Trust who took us on a very informative tour of Old Cathcart.

January’s meeting was a planning session and sharing of our accumulated information leaflets and books of the area which led to many ideas for future meetings beginning with a knowledge sharing in February where each member had to speak for a few minutes on something they had discovered about the area. This was a lively meeting with topics ranging from local architecture to famous people educated in local schools.

Our March meeting will be a walk associated with areas relevant to the life of John MacLean and April will be a visit to the Museum in Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
